Before heading to Tampa I researched the best spots to watch a sunrise and sunset. After arriving to Tampa, we found Sunshine Skyway and on Sunday morning we headed over there just before the golden hour. It ended up being the perfect spot to watch the beautiful sunrise across the water. The pier was almost completely empty, with just a few fishermen waiting for a big catch!
Nestled between St. Petersburg and Terra Ceia, this little pier is in essence of its name. This was my first time watching a sunrise over water and it is now my absolute favorite time of the day. I really don’t enjoy the actual process of waking up while it’s still dark outside, but once I was up, there was no better feeling. It was so incredibly quiet and peaceful with nothing to do, other than just be. We sat on rocky rocks and listened to the waves crash against them as the sky began to change.
Since I woke up the before dawn, It was important for me to be comfortable and cozy. This blue oversized sweater from revolve was just that. I paired this sweater with my jeweled shorts (last seen here) I got from MANGO last summer and my dainty third times a charm necklace from Stella & Dot.
Not to long after the sun rose it started to drizzle. Luckily, I had my hinge boater hat (last seen here) in the car to cover my hair from the sprinkles of rain. We got lucky with our first sunrise. It ended up being one of the most memorable parts from our trip. Back home in Oxford it has me wishing I was sitting on these rocks again, with a warm glow on my face from the rising sun.
